Tony Wilson is a lawyer with over forty years’ experience. He was Senior Partner at Hill Dickinson for a period of ten years. In that period the LLP grew from a £20 million to a £100 million law firm with international offices. This involved negotiating a number of law firm mergers which required significant negotiation skills.
Tony has considerable experience of mediations having been involved as a party since the 1990’s.He has been involved in many mediations relating to professional indemnity claims, high value personal injury claims and professional partnership disputes.
Since ending his term as Senior partner Tony has spent the past seven years dealing with professional indemnity claims and high value personal injury claims for insurers and major corporates. In addition Tony has represented Claimants in relation to serious personal injury claims and has a good understanding of representing both sides and is respected for his negotiation skills.
Tony’s practice included clinical negligence claims and representing Pharmacists Opticians and Veterinary Surgeons. This has involved matters relating to Regulatory and Disciplinary proceedings.
Tony’s experience of representing the Veterinary profession has involved mediations relating to race horses and sports horses. He was involved in an international poultry claim which settled by way of mediation. The experience included gaining knowledge of how to value equine claims and cases involving large animals.
Tony is a CEDR trained mediator and is a member of their ADR panel. He passionately believes in the value of mediation as a cost effective way of resolving disputes but more importantly that it allows the parties not just their lawyers to be actively involved in the settlement.
